Rocky Mountain Horse

This was a painting I did one summer based off a photo I found. I don't know who the photographer is (if it's you, feel free to message me and I'll give you credit).
As far as subject matter goes, this was far from my comfort zone, but I was inspired to do it as a birthday present for my girlfriend, and to stretch my artistic scope somewhat. I took some liberties with the composition and the anatomy for the sake of expression, but as my first and only horse painting thus far, it felt like a refreshing change of pace.
